Standalone application installer (Windows 2000 or newer including XP, Vista, Windows 7)

RIOT as plug-in for other applications
RIOT plugin for The GIMP, IrfanView, XnView and other supporting applications
Plug-ins for RIOT
Even if RIOT is available as plug-in for other programs like IrfanView or GIMP, RIOT itself can be extended with plug-ins to enhance it’s functionality.
Currently only input plug-ins are supported. In the future I hope more plug-in types will be added.
Download the RAW + HDR plugin package – allows you to open HDR, OpenEXR and RAW camera images
Special notice to IrfanView users
IrfanView has bundled into the plugin collection the Lite version of the RIOT plugin.
Here you can find the extended version (also FREE) that goes beyond Lite version offering extended functionality.
I always recommend the extended version over the Lite one.

I use Irfanview, and just updated RIOT to 0.4.6. Thanks for making the extended version of a fabulous program. It installed in Irfanview just fine.
I also downloaded the plug-in file. You said: “Even if RIOT is available as plug-in for other programs like IrfanView or GIMP, RIOT itself can be extended with plug-ins to enhance it’s functionality.
Download the RAW + HDR plugin package – allows you to open HDR, OpenEXR and RAW camera images.”
However, I can’t figure out how to get RIOT to recognize the plug in. I extracted the .zip file, and got 3 .fip files, but I don’t know what to do with them, and I can’t find anything in RIOT to tell me.
Thanks in advance for your assistance,
Harry

Hello Harry
Thank you for your support. If you are using the RIOT IrfanView plugin you can copy all the 3 .fip files in the main IrfanView folder or in the plugins folder.

Any JPEG2000 support in the future?

Currently there is only read support for JPEG 2000.
Write support will not be added until this format will be widely supported on web browsers.

Is there a 64 bit version of this program? It would be great to have a dedicated 64bit version of this. Thank you for this great program!

The RAW + HDR plugin package allows you to open HDR, OpenEXR and RAW camera images. I suppose you mean open in IrfanView. But IrfanView version 4.33 can open RAW and RW2 files wthout the RAW and HDR plugin package. Can you explain? I have copied these three fip files to the IrfanView and also to the IrfanView\Plugins folder.
Installed Plugins in IrfanView shows no difference, neither does the IrfanView user interface.
Your link detailing about the Lite and Extended version gives an error 404 Page not found.
In other words, can you pls tell us how to ge these fip files working and how to verify that IrfanView with these fip files actually offers extended functionality.
Thanks.

Love the Riot software. It works better than most compressors with better results. This should be everyone’s go to tool for compression.

Wonderful software. Can you please include some more saving of the settings, i.e. width and hight of the resizer module? This would make it even more comfortable. Thanks!

hello.
i wanted to suggest, if you can make an option for RIOT, to be shown it in right click menu for images. (similar as “right click image converter” OR “Light Resizer” has).
this option should be changed from RIOT preferences.
