Radical Image Optimization Tool

   A client gave me a few images to batch save (as a test). I batch saved them both with RIOT, and through the RIOT plugin in Irfanview. (Both with the latest software.)

   Afterwards, I used this tool to view my color profile: h t t p://exif.regex.info/exif.cgi

   It told me this about my color profile: No color-space metadata and no embedded color profile

   So... is there a way to batch save images and have the RIOT plugin ensure all images receive an RGB (or RGBs if it's more commonplace) color profile? If so, how would I go about setting this in the RIOT Batch Optimizer?

   You have a metadata tab. Choose what to keep.

   Hi. Thank you for the quick response. Here's the problem;

   Some of the images I'm running through RIOT's batch routine are CMYK, and they need to be RGB after resizing them.

   Here are the metadata checkboxes (below). It's my understanding that by unchecking them, I'd still have some images that are RGB, and some that are CMYK, and that none would have actually been converted to CMYK, correct? (If I'm wrong, please tell me what boxes I should uncheck.)

   Remove IPTC info
   Remove XMP info
   Remove EXIF profile
   Remove Comments
   Remove ICC profile

   Lastly, I paid a high level Image Magick programmer to create a conversion script doing EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Basically, it's a "Save for web (RGBs) script" with a target file size and max height/width settings. Would you like to add this feature to RIOT? If so, please send me your email address and I will send you the script.

   RIOT can keep the ICC profile or not. But if not present, it does not create a color profile. So it can't create and embed a sRGB profile if you don't already have it in the file.

   If I provided you with a script that would do that, would you like to add that feature to RIOT? There are no free programs out there that have a "batch save for web" feature.
